Aura Care Living’s Head Chef is Regional Finalist in National Great British Care Awards

Aura Care Living’s Head Chef based in their King’s Lodge Care Home in Camberley, has been nominated for the Care Home Cook / Chef Award in the Great British Care Awards. Jennifer Hamilton has been working at Aura Care Living for over two years and has been working in the Care Home industry for over 18 years. To be nominated for this prestigious award is a wonderful accolade and testament to Jenny’s talents and passion for her job.

‘She has been instrumental in introducing Show Plates into the home and preparing finger food for residents living with dementia would struggle with cutlery. Not only is Jenny’s food loved by the residents, but the families who visit rave about jenny’s delicious cooking and how she goes above and beyond at functions like our Summer BBQ.’
Jenny said: ‘I have been a chef for 32 yrs. My qualifications are City & Guilds 306/1,2 &3 in Hotel &Catering Management. For the first 12 years I worked in restaurants, hotels and Fresh Foods management. But, for the past 18 years I have been working in the care environment and it has definitely been the most rewarding. I Have been with Aura care for nearly 2 ½ years now – I don’t feel I am just the chef, I’m part of an exceptional loving caring home.’
