RESIDENTIAL care
RESIDENTIAL CARE
Residential Care can be described in varying ways, but is often given in general “Care Homes”. Residential Care is for those who require basic assistance and support with their everyday lives, or may be suffering from loneliness at home, especially following the loss of a loved one. However, those in residential care should not require daily nursing care, but are simply unable to be as independent as they once were.
Residential Care can vary from short term (respite) to long term stays. Respite stays are excellent for those who need low level care and rely on their families to do so, but the family may be away on holiday or unable to provide the support for a short amount of time. Christmas tends to be a popular time for those looking for Respite stays, as this can be a busy time for families with their elderly relatives feeling they may be a burden. Respite stays allows for those residents to build relationships and reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness while relieving pressures of basic activities such as cooking, cleaning, laundry or even washing or dressing.
SPECIALISED RESIDENTIAL CARE
Residential Care is very different to Nursing Care and Dementia Care. It is for those with very low level needs and not suitable for those suffering with Dementia. However, Residential Care still provides 24 hour care to assist those living there. It
