I have lived at Stratton court care home since March 2020 as I started to need a little more support and to be honest I just love the company.
In a normal day, I get up in the morning and dress myself. I like to dress independently as I enjoy choosing my own clothes but I have help if I ever need it. I then head to breakfast and enjoy a full English breakfast with friends. After breakfast, I really enjoy going for a walk with a member of staff around the grounds. We often pick flowers and make little bouquets to give to my friends. I have been able to continue gardening while at Stratton Court Care Home which has been a wonderful activity for me.
At lunch, I really enjoy sitting with my friends. We tend to have a fresh soup, main meal and a delicious pudding! We sometimes even have a sing along at lunch with the music.
In the afternoon I like to have a rest after the morning’s activities, and chat to my family using my computer. Then the fun really starts when we go to the lounge and have some singing, dancing! I often go to the bar and help get drinks ready for the evening or I have a pamper by getting my hair done in the hairdressers or watch a movie in the cinema.
Stratton Court Care Home has made me feel at home, welcome and always fulfilled my wishes no matter how big or small.
“I am overwhelmed with how well June has settled at Stratton Court Care Home. I was so concerned about her health and weight but since moving in she has gained weight and she’s done so much than what she was doing at home. June had started to become a bit of a turtle, hiding in her shell but now June’s confident and engaging. The team are amazing. They really do care!”
