Meet the Team at Stratton Court – Activities
January 30, 2023

My name is David Ible and I am the lifestyle Lead here at Stratton court care home. I have been a lifestyle coordinator for 8 years and love every minute. I thrive on thinking of new ideas that the residents love and making them happen.

There is a huge difference between before an activity, during and after of a residents wellbeing and health.  It brings back memories, positive emotions and creates conversation. But it allows me to get to know the resident’s history and an understanding of what they want to do both now and in the future.

I always knew I wanted to do something that made a difference, helping people smile and enjoy their time so when I left my role in a  holiday park this was a perfect opportunity to use my people skills and training to help people enjoy each day in the best way possible.

I choose Aura Care Living because of their support structure, facilities and the feel of the home and I feel very lucky to have so many beautiful areas in which to run the activities like a library, cinema, lounge and restaurant.  I love bringing in singers, animals, car rides, musicians and music therapy.

I also bring my 3 children in to visit the residents which brings life to all involved and lets the residents connect with me in a more personal way.  My most successful activity here was the wishing tree where we able to make several wishes come true including a message from Cliff Richard, walking a horse, a ride in a ferari and even a visit from the Queens own Grenadier guard. I was lucky enough to be featured in the Daily Mail and on Russell’s Howards Good News for the hard work we all did to make the resident’s wishes come true.

Lifestyle choices are incredibly important for each of the residents and I am very proud of what we do here.  I am also very thankful to the management team  for all the support and encouragement they have given me during the time I have been here and really feel part of the family at Aura Care Living!
