Inspired by the spirit of the London Marathon, our wonderful residents and team at Stratton Court Care Home and Retirement Village took part in a very special challenge.
On Thursday, May 29th, we collectively took on 13 miles – the distance of a half marathon – right here on our grounds. No time records to beat, just a heartfelt goal: to raise funds for Sue Ryder, our Charity of the Year.
Between 11am to 2:30pm, the Stratton Court community, including residents in their 80s and 90s, were walking, wheeling, and cheering each other on as we covered the distance together. It’s not just a fitness event, it’s a celebration of community spirit, shared purpose, and making every step count.
Sue Ryder provides essential end-of-life care and bereavement support, including at their nearby Leckhampton centre. Supporting them means so much to all of us here.
