UNDERSTANDING RESPITE CARE

A HELPING HAND

Everyone deserves some ‘me’ time. If you are caring for someone and need some time for yourself to recharge your batteries, or you’d like a little extra support yourself following a period of illness, taking a break from your usual routine is essential to help maintain your own general health and wellbeing.

At Stratton Court we provide respite, or short stay care, for those who do not require long term care. Depending on the individual’s needs, a short stay could range from a few days to a few weeks. Our respite residents often return time and again once they have experienced life at Stratton Court.
Individuals have also chosen to make their Stratton Court their permanent home following their Respite experiences.

Respite Care may be suitable for various reasons and can be beneficial whether it has been planned or due to unexpected circumstances.

John S (Resident)

“I came to Statton Court Care Home for a week convalescence after a hospital stay following a cardiac procedure as I now live on alone and felt that I needed support for a few days on discharge. This proved to be very successful as I have an excellent room, nursing care if needed, first-rate food and
plenty of it and friendly and caring staff available at all times – all within a 5-star environment. Highly recommended.”

“I moved into Stratton Court as a gift from my family as I had experienced some health issues. I was made so welcome by everyone. Nothing was too much trouble. I have never in my life seen such dedicated and loving staff. Everything was fantastic in Stratton Court. My two-week respite made me realise that this is where I belong. So with the help of the dear Manager, I have my own apartment and have made wonderful friends all around me. God bless you all.”
