Eve’s Story

My day begins with me waking up and a carer helping me getting washed and dressed. It is lovely to have a bit of company and chat in the morning. I love being able to take my time and choose my own clothes, and having a friend help me with the finishing touches of my makeup is lovely.

I normally have breakfast with my friends in the dining room and then go to the garden when the weather is nice. Watching wildlife around Kings Lodge is a favourite activity of mine and I love being involved with feeding them with our wildlife feeding stations.

I choose to have all meals in the dining room as it is very social, and my friends and I can often be chatting long after our meals. However, if I want to eat in my room for a peaceful moment, I am easily able to.

There are lots of activities to enjoy in Kings lodge and I love it when we have singers visit as we all get involved. Kings Lodge has an incredible community spirit and I never feel cut off from the world.

In the evening, I generally sit in our lounge with everyone and watch TV while having a nice chat. When I am ready for bed, a carer will help me to my room and get changed for bed, and tucks me in with a jug of water or juice for the night.
